A 26-year-old man has been arrested following a month-long investigation by New Westminster police into a bank robbery on Halloween.
The theft happened at about 4 p.m. at a bank in the 500 block of Sixth Street on Oct. 31. Police wouldn’t reveal many details about the incident as the case is now before the courts, but confirmed the suspect got away with some cash. No weapons were used and no one was injured, according to Acting Sgt. Jeff Scott, spokesperson for the New Westminster Police Department.
The police department’s major crime unit took over the investigation into the robbery and was able to identify and locate the alleged thief – a man from Surrey, according to a press release.
The suspect, David Frederick Daniel Pullen, was arrested and has been charged with two counts of robbery for incidents in New West and Surrey. Police are planning to recommend more charges following the conclusion of the investigation.
