The Pattullo Bridge will have a full overnight closure from 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10 until 5 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11.

The Pattullo Bridge will be closed to vehicles next weekend.

Fraser Crossing Partners, which is building the replacement to the Pattullo Bridge, has announced that an overnight closure of the bridge connector southbound is required in New West from 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9 until 5 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10.

During this closure, drivers going to Surrey will be detoured to the Columbia Street loop ramp to access the Pattullo Bridge. The Royal Avenue on-ramp will remain open.

That closure will be followed by a full overnight closure of the Pattullo Bridge on Friday night.

“Pattullo Bridge users will need to plan for additional travel time when closures are in effect,” said a notice about the work.  “Pedestrian and cyclist access on the Pattullo Bridge will be maintained during both closures. We appreciate your patience while this work is underway.”

According to Fraser Crossing Partners the overnight closure of the Pattullo Bridge in both directions will be in effect from 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10 until 5 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11.

“Pattullo Bridge will be closed in both directions; drivers are encouraged to take the Port Mann or Alex Fraser Bridge,” said the notice. “This work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if required.”

During the overnight full closure of the Pattullo Bridge on Friday, Nov. 10, northbound and southbound N19 NightBus trips will be rerouted over the Queensborough and Alex Fraser bridges, and affected customers should plan for an additional 30 minutes of travel time. Emergency vehicle access, and access for pedestrians and cyclists, will be maintained during both closures.

“These closures are required for FCP to update lane configurations on the bridge approaches in both New Westminster and Surrey to accommodate additional construction activities,” explained the notice.
