Don Choy was missing for almost two weeks, and on Oct. 20 the search came to a tragic end.

Choy’s body was found in Delta on Sunday, according to a New Westminster Police Department media release.

The investigation is now in the hands of the B.C. Coroners Service. Foul play is not suspected, according to the release.

Sgt. Diana McDaniel, spokesperson for the New Westminster department, said police were waiting to announce the discovery until Choy’s family had been notified.

“Mr. Choy’s family has been advised and the NWPD (New Westminster Police Department) would like to offer their condolences to Mr. Choy’s family, friends and colleagues,” the release stated.

Choy went missing on Oct. 8 from his family home in downtown New Westminster.

Police were especially concerned with his whereabouts as he was required to take daily medication for an ongoing illness, without the medication his condition would quickly deteriorate.

New Westminster police couldn’t provide any further information regarding the discovery of Choy’s body.
