Jonina Campbell is proud to call New Westminster home.
From her website at www.joninacampbell.ca, she said she believes New Westminster "is a great place to raise her three children, Matthew, Sophie and Sadie, with her husband, Andrew.
"As a parent, with children enrolled in the New Westminster school district, Jonina cares deeply about our schools and is committed to making School District 40 a district we can all be proud of."
Campbell is a strong advocate of public education and she is committed to building and sustaining an educational system that reflects the needs, values and priorities of the New Westminster community.
Campbell is running for school board to ensure the successful building of the new schools.
"Students deserve schools that are safe, well-designed and of lasting quality," she said.
She is also running to protect and strengthen school programs, to support students with special needs, early learners and new citizens, and to promote active living and walking to school.
In addition to engaging parents, staff and students on educational issues, Campbell wants more collaboration between the board of education and city council on issues that affect student achievement and well-being: traffic, affordable housing, child care, green space and recreational opportunities.
Campbell is one of four school board candidates being endorsed by the New Westminster and District Labour Council.
