James Pepa was born on Aug. 5, 1983 in Honolulu, Hawaii and is the youngest of two children.
Pepa and his family moved to New Westminster when he was an infant and has lived in the West End his whole life.
Pepa attended Connaught Heights Community School from preschool to Grade 7 and then moved to New Westminster Secondary School for grades 8 to 12.
James and his fiancee have three children; Dakotah, seven; Jaime, four; and Kalani, 21 months; with another child on the way.
Dakotah and Jaime currently attend Connaught Heights, where Pepa currently serves as PAC president.
"I am running for school trustee because I believe that being a parent, I can represent the views and concerns of parents in the district," said Pepa. "I believe that the timely and on-budget completion of our capital project is a high priority and a concern of everyone in our community."
Pepa also believes that the district can use new techology to improve consultation between the district and local residents and he also supports an expanded local bargaining influence during collective bargaining.
Pepa is running as an independent.
