Casey Cook is a New Westminster resident of 26 years. His children went to school in New Westminster and his grandchild currently does now.
Cook retired after 34 years as an administrator with the City of Vancouver.
Cook has been very active in the community, having served 12 years as a city councillor and one term on the school board. He also ran unsuccessfully for the mayor's job in 2005.
Cook also currently serves as the commissioner of the Western Lacrosse Association and is the president of the Kiwanis Senior Care Centre Society. He has also served on the New Westminster Public Library board, St. Mary's Hospital board, Massey Theatre board and the Fraser River Discovery Centre board.
Cook was involved with the New Westminster Salmonbellies lacrosse club for 25 years and in 2000, he was inducted as a builder into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
Cook said his goals on the school board are: to get the three new schools built; to instill progressive management and sound financial management; assess all programs and services; to improve communications; and to strengthen relationships between school and the home.
Cook is one of five candidates endorsed by Voice New Westminster.
