A 50-year-old New Westminster man is facing a laundry list of charges in connection to four robberies between Dec. 5, 2018, and Jan. 7, 2019.
Police say four small businesses in New Westminster, Coquitlam and Burnaby were robbed by a man who wore a face mask and demanded money.
The suspect was arrested on Jan. 29 in New Westminster following an investigation by New Westminster Police’s major crime unit.He was identified in January and an arrest warrant was issued. He was located at his home and taken into custody with help from the Emergency Response Team, according to a press release.
Warren David Bonsell has been charged with four counts of robbery; four counts of committing a crime with his face masked; four counts of using an imitation firearm while committing a robbery; and three counts of threatening to cause death or bodily harm.
“Criminals don’t restrict themselves by municipal boundaries, and this is a great example of neighbouring police agencies working together to identify and arrest a subject wanted for multiple robberies,” said New Westminster Sgt. Jeff Scott in the release.
Bonsell is in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 11.
