A 33-year-old New Westminster man has been charged with three counts of robbery after being arrested on March 9.

Michael Ross Ogden had a court appearance on March 21 to face the three robbery charges. He's being held in custody and has a bail hearing set for April 4.

On March 8, just before 8 p.m., a man entered a bank in the 500 block of Sixth Street and produced a note demanding cash. The man did not produce a weapon and after a short period of time, fled without obtaining any money. The man then stole a local taxi, which police found abandoned a short time later in neighbouring Burnaby. Members of the New Westminster police patrol division and operational support unit started their investigation and arrested Ogden a day later.
