Two alert New Westminster police constables helped arrest a Richmond man wanted on several outstanding warrants.

At approximately 1: 30 p.m. on July 30, constables Darryl Pakosh and Gord Santaga were completing a traffic stop in the 400-block of Ninth Street when they saw a BMW 328i speeding southbound on Ninth Street.

The officers tried to flag the driver over for speeding, but the driver only slowed down enough to manoeuvre around before speeding away. The driver made two quick right turns, but ended up in a dead-end parking lot at an apartment.

Pakosh and Santaga pulled in behind the car and arrested him after a short foot pursuit. After the officers ran his information through the computer, they discovered the driver, Donald Ryan Stalker, 26, of Richmond, had a Criminal Code prohibition from driving, as well as several warrants outstanding for his arrest.

Stalker was wanted on several warrants, including one from the West Vancouver Police Department for occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and obstructing a police officer.
