Seven New Westminster police officers have been chosen for Alexa's Team because of their strong commitment to getting impaired drivers off the roads.

Constables Jamie Crowston, Ted Ishii, Jeff Scott, Tomas Graham, Stu Hagen, Jaspaul Chung and John MacDonald were all named to the 2012 team. According to a press release, officers "were required to have taken at least 12 criminally impaired drivers off the road through a criminal charge investigation or the immediate roadside prohibition."

Alexa's Team is a partnership that began in 2009 after the death of four-and-a-half-year-old Alexa Middelaer the year earlier. Middelaer was killed when she and her aunt were struck by an impaired driver while feeding a horse along the side of the road. Alexa's Team unites the Middelaer family, the BCAA Road Safety Foundation and ICBC.
