Re: Man gets three years for 'vile, violent, degrading' sexual assault in CFB Esquimalt dorm (May 30, 2024)
The recent article on your website about Hayden Chokrev-Evans, who sexually assaulted a woman in a "vile, violent, and degrading" manner, was heartbreaking to say the least.
And when I saw that they were only sentenced to three years in prison, I was so so angry it made me ill.
Three years in prison for a "vile, violent and degrading" sexual assault is not good enough.
The woman will be scarred for life, one way or another.
Three years in prison for this is a joke, and no one in their right mind would think differently.
Criminals like this, have no conscience or morals, and should be locked up for at least 20 years, but this so-called justice system of ours is more about protecting the rights of the bad guys, than the rights of decent, law abiding citizens.
I place the blame for this on our current federal government, along with the Supreme Court of Canada.
