Sunday evening in the Herbert Spencer area, my dog started barking and I looked out to see a coyote on my front porch staring down a cat on the railing of my porch. I have already chased two down Seventh Avenue and have seen them on First Street and in Queen’s Park during daylight hours.
The coyotes are getting bolder and missing pet posters are staring to appear. I know that they are part of our urban environment, but given that they can get vicious, I would very much like the city to consider a catch-and-release program that would benefit both parties.
Losing a beloved pet is very difficult for people especially during these times.
