That's the name of the game you can play with your significant other for Valentine's Day.
On Friday, Feb. 15, the Emerald Pig Theatrical Society presents a two-for-one event featuring the Do You Really Know Your Partner? game (participation optional), plus the one-woman musical, Tell Me On A Sunday, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, starring Robyn Van Luven. MASTER ORGANIST
Award-winning organist Marc D'anjou has devoted his life to the grand instrument, performing at venues around Canada and abroad.
This month, D'anjou, titular organist of the Quebec City Cathedral-Basilica, will perform a show here in New West, at Queen's Avenue Church, 529 Queens Ave.
The Sunday, Feb. 16 show starts at 7: 30 p.m., with music by Bach, Messaien, Bedard, Young and other composers.
The church is wheelchair accessible. Tickets are $15/$20 at the door.
THE RED CARPET
Local residents can get a taste of the celebrity life next month at a swanky dinner event in town.
The Arts Council of New Westminster is pulling out all the stops on Oscar night, Feb. 24 at the Columbia Theatre, with a limo, red carpet, paparazzi and formal dining.
"We're trying to make it a very sparkling and exciting event, and also a lot of fun," said Andrée St. Martin, executive director of the arts council.
Almost 200 people are expected to attend the event, which will include a live screening of the 85th Academy Awards show.
Formal attire is required, but black tie is optional. Guests can have their photos taken on the red carpet next to a parked limo before they head inside for the show.
The society hosted an Oscar fundraiser in 2007 at the Centennial Lodge, but found there wasn't enough room for the number of people who wanted the experience of walking the red carpet. Hosting the dinner at the Columbia Theatre will allow for more than double the capacity, said St. Martin. A local catering company will provide the dinner.
"We're almost ready with the menu," she said.
Tickets are $85 per person, or $80 per person when a full table is booked. The evening starts at 5 p.m. at the Columbia Theatre at 530 Columbia Street. For tickets or more information, call the Arts Council office, at 604-5253244.
