Poetic Justice Sunday night

Poetic Justice, the weekly poetry reading series continues Sunday, March 24 at the Heritage Grill's backroom, with readings by Teo Dobre, Kyle Hawke, Sho Wiley and hosted by Franci Louann. Everyone is welcome to show up for the 3 to 5 p.m. event at 447 Columbia St. to hear some spoken word and even share some of your own during the open mike section. The Heritage Grill is located at 447 Columbia St.

Monday movie is Anna Karenina

If it's the last Monday of the month, then it's time to grab your bag of popcorn and find the best seat in the house at the Massey Theatre.

On March 25, the Arts Council of New Westminster will present Anna Karenina, which won an Oscar this year for best costume design, at its monthly Last Monday at the Movies event.

Adapted from Leo Tolstoy's classic novel of the same name, Anna Karenina (played by Keira Knightley) explores the human heart's capacity for love as the title character questions her happiness and marriage as everything change around her.

The show starts at 7: 30 p.m. and runs 130 minutes.

World Poetry Night Out

Celebrate world poetry and this year's International Women's Day at the New Westminster Public Library on March 27 with the Royal City's poet laureate, Candice James.

Hosts Ariadne Sawyer and Frederico Gordo will also welcome poets Tony Antonias, Mickey Bickerstaff, Janet Kvammen, as well as World Poetry New Westminster Youth Ambassador Danielle Jones, and Heidi Mueller, who will inform guests about International Women's Day History.

This free event will feature an open mike, free raffle and refreshments, all beginning at 6: 30 p.m. in the auditorium room at the library - 716 Sixth Ave.
