Kids in Grades 2 through 9 who like to sing are invited to join the Vivo Children's Choir this season. No audition is necessary to participate, just a love of singing. Registration is today (Sept. 12), and rehearsals are from 4 to 5: 30 p.m.

FREE ADMISSION TO LUNCHTIME PIANO CONCERT

Piano Pinnacle, a Vancouver duo, is performing a free admission concert tomorrow (Sept. 13) as part of the Douglas College Arts at One series. The show will be at 1 p.m. at 700 Royal Ave. The pianists will perform a series of four recitals this month across North America, culminating in Toronto.

Their program includes works by Mozart, Lutoslawski, Alexina Louie, Yoshibumi Fujiwara, Infante, Habibi and Arensky, as well as several short works by other promising Canadian contemporary composers.

WORLD POETRY IN THE ROYAL CITY

A poetry extravaganza is set for Sept. 26 at the New Westminster Public Library.

The World Poetry Night Out New Westminster, starts at 6: 30 p.m. at 716 Sixth Ave., to be hosted by Jacqueline Maire and Ariadne Sawyer.

Patrons are welcome to attend dressed as their favourite poet, read a poem and even share some of their own work. So far, the lineup for poets to be read includes Christina Rossetti, William Blake and others. Costumes are optional, and there will be a book raffle, refreshments, and open mike. Admission is free. NEW WEST ROCKS IN OCTOBER

For some rockin' good times, hit the Columbia Theatre Oct. 6 for Royal City Rock 'n Roll, a benefit concert for the Royal City Humane Society.

The concert will feature local band, The Baldeans as headliners, with The Deadcats, Big Top, and special guests Uke'n'Drink.

The all-ages event will also include a silent auction and some tunes by DJ Bryce Dunn. Tickets are $10 at the door, as of 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7: 30 p.m. at 530 Columbia St. For more information, visit www.thecolumbia.ca.
