New Westminster school district parents, teachers and support staff who want to sit on the school board’s May Day task force have until Jan. 15 to express interest.
The task force, approved by the board in November, is being set up to review the nature and scope of the school district’s participation in the annual May Day celebration.
The committee will include four teachers, two parents, one support staff, one principal or vice-principal, one senior manager and two trustees.
It will gather feedback from individuals and groups interested in the school district’s participation in May Day and will report its findings and recommendations back to the board no later than the fall of 2016 so any changes can be implemented for the 2017 May Day celebrations.
The group will meet for three to five hours every month (except July and August) up to December 2016 or until it has made its recommendations to the board.
