It's International Cat Day: Felines to love at New West shelter

Need some cute? The Breakfast Litter is at your service.
Sausage the Kitten New Westminster
This is Sausage, one of five kittens in the so-called "Breakfast Litter" now listed for adoption at the New Westminster Animal Shelter.

In honour of International Cat Day — that's today (Monday, Aug. 8), for those who weren't in the loop — we're offering a special shoutout to the feline inhabitants of the New Westminster Animal Shelter who are awaiting their fur-ever homes.

For those who've been hankering to welcome a kitten into the household, the shelter has a litter listed on Petfinder. The five, adorably dubbed the "Breakfast Litter," come bearing the names of Pancake, Waffles, Egg, Bacon and Sausage.

Pancake is a black medium-haired female kitten, and the others are males: Waffles is a grey/silver short-hair, while Egg, Bacon and Sausage are all black short-hairs.

The kittens are listed as "friendly, affectionate, playful and curious" and will do well in homes with other cats.

Also up for adoption is Zayn, a black, short-haired male adult cat, who doesn't want to be in a home with children but who is gentle, quiet and affectionate, according to his listing.

You can find all the adoption details at the New Westminster Animal Shelter's Facebook page or on its Petfinder listings.

The New Westminster Animal Shelter is at 420 Boyne St. in Queensborough.
