Bruce Dickinson (of Iron Maiden fame) is bringing his spoken word tour to the Massey Theatre stage in March 2022. Tickets go on sale Nov. 5.

One of the world's kings of metal is coming to the stage right here in New Westminster.

Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson is kicking off a 10-city Canadian spoken word tour at the Massey Theatre in March 2022, following an extensive list of U.S. shows. Tickets for his Massey stop go on sale starting this Friday.

The two-part show features Dickinson first telling stories from his world, followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

A press release points out that Dickinson has plenty of life experiences to draw from, even aside from his larger-than-life persona in Iron Maiden.

"A true polymath, his accomplishments include: pilot and airline captain, aviation entrepreneur, beer brewer, motivational speaker, podcaster, film scriptwriter, twice-published novelist and New York Times Top 10 best-selling author, radio presenter, TV actor, sports commentator and international fencer ... to name but a few," the release notes.

It points out that audiences can expect Dickinson to take a humorous and often satirical look at the world,  "treating the audience to private insights into his drive and ambition, peppered with plenty of Maiden anecdotes, and a myriad of other experiences encompassing not just the giddy heights but also the extreme lows, told first-hand in his inimitable anarchic style, punctuated with photographs and sometimes even erupting into song a cappella, to illustrate a point."

Audience members should come prepared with their own questions.

"As Bruce’s answers will all be completely improvised – the more left-field and quirky the question, the more interesting and compelling the response is likely to be," the release notes.

Dickinson will be onstage Monday, March 14, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 5 starting at 10 a.m.
