Honour House will conform to zoning bylaws.
The facility, located at 509 St. George St., provides temporary housing for members of the Canadian Forces and first responders (police, fire and paramedics), as well as their families, when they are in town for medical treatment. Because the facility has been a nonconforming use in the single detached residential district zone, Honour House Society applied to rezone the site to a comprehensive development district (Honour House) zone to bring it into conformity with city bylaws.
No one spoke to the rezoning at a Dec. 3 public hearing. Council has approved the rezoning application.
