Looks like fuel companies are giving New Westminster motorists a break at the pumps ahead of the Canada Day long weekend.
GasBuddy.com's latest report states $1.79 per litre as the cheapest gas price in the city, as of this publication, June 28, at three local stations, including two Chevrons (see list below).
The outlet's number dropped by nine cents from $1.88 per litre, which was the most expensive last Friday, June 21.
It's also one of the more affordable prices for gas in Metro Vancouver, six cents more than the lowest available at $1.73 per litre at the Super Save Gas off 200 Street in Langley.
All nine gas stations in New West experienced a weekly decrease, bringing the average price down to $1.82 from $1.86 per litre.
Meanwhile, the cheapest fuel in B.C. is still flowing through the south Okanagan region.
The price at Central Avenue Super Save Gas in Grand Forks dipped two cents to $1.51 per litre, according to GasBuddy.com.
The least expensive gas outlet within driving distance of New Westminster is $1.63 per litre at the 1st Avenue Esso and Circle K in Chilliwack — nearly 90 km east on Highway 1.
