Some New Westminster gas stations took a modest dip in price, but others went in the opposite direction.

New Westminster appears to be offering a mixed bag of gas prices ahead of the weekend.

The cheapest price at $1.65 per litre remains unchanged as of this publication, Feb. 9, according to GasBuddy.com's latest report.

However, that number is now being offered at two locations: the Sixth Avenue Esso, once more, and the Sixth Street Chevron, which is a five-cent drop from $1.70 per litre last Friday, Feb. 2 (see full list below).

That was also the largest decline in weekly price of any other outlet in New West. The second biggest dip was by three cents to $1.66 per litre at Centex on Ewen Ave.

The $1.65 per litre is considered to be one of the lesser prices for fuel in Metro Vancouver.

New Westminster's average sits at $1.69 per litre for a second consecutive week resulting from more than half of the gas stations in the city offering $1.70 per litre or more.

There was an increase, however, in B.C.'s cheapest fuel and it can now be found further north.

GasBuddy.com says Super Save Gas on Victoria Street in Prince George has listed a price of $1.44 per litre.

The most affordable gas within driving distance is $1.49 at the Save and Gas on Farms Road in Hatzic — more than 65 km east of New Westminster.
