Groundhog Day is ringing true for the New Westminster motorists today, Feb. 2.
GasBuddy.com says fuel prices are on the upswing once again with the city's average now sitting at $1.69 per litre, which is an increase of two cents compared to $1.67 per litre last Friday, Jan. 26.
Only one outlet experienced a drop in its price — the Esso and 7-Eleven on Sixth Avenue from $1.68 to $1.65 per litre.
That's the currently cheapest price for gas in New West, as of this publication.
It's also considered to be one of the least expensive on the Metro Vancouver market. The lowest is $1.60 per litre at the River Road Husky station in Delta, which is a rise of three cents from $1.57 last Friday, Jan. 26.
B.C.'s cheapest gas currently sits at $1.37 per litre, a weekly drop of one cent, posted at the Settler Place Husky in 150 Mile House — roughly 520 km north of New Westminster.
Nine of the province's top 10 lowest prices for fuel are in the Okanagan, GasBuddy.com says, including Salmon Arm, Kelowna, Vernon and Lake Country, offering prices that range from $1.39 to $1.43 per litre.
