It appears New Westminster motorists may be choosing preference over price when refuelling their vehicle at local gas stations today, Jan. 12.
GasBuddy.com's latest report shows only two numbers for the city — $1.62 or $1.63 per litre — as of this publication.
And that's because all nine outlets recorded a drop in their prices, including three with double-digit declines (see full list below).
The biggest of them all was 11 cents to $1.63 per litre at the shell on West 8th Avenue compared to $1.74 per litre last Friday, Jan. 5.
As well, prices at the Essos on 6th Street and Sixth Avenue fell by 10 cents each to $1.62 per litre.
GasBuddy.com's latest numbers indicate $1.55 per litre as the best price for gas in Metro Vancouver, available at Smart Gas on Canada Way in Burnaby.
It also notes the least expensive fuel in B.C. is $1.36 per litre at the Super Save Gas in Quesnel.
That's a dip of two cents from $1.38 per litre last week from the same station.
The cheapest gas within driving distance of New Westminster is $1.44 per litre — roughly 90 km east at the Centex and GOMarket stop off Yale Road in Chilliwack.
