More than half of New Westminster's gas stations have recorded an uptick in prices ahead of the first weekend of 2024.

However, the city's average did not change as the increases balanced out with those that saw a decrease in weekly prices.

The cheapest gas went up to $1.63 per litre at the Ewen Avenue Centex (see full list below), a bump of only one cent from the last seven days, according to GasBuddy.com.

That's considered to be one of the most affordable stops for fuel available in all of Metro Vancouver, as of this publication, Jan. 5.

The next best available for New West motorists is $1.64 per litre at the 12th Street Petro-Canada, which in itself was a drop of six cents from last Friday, Dec. 29.

The average remains at $1.70 per litre with five local outlets currently above that threshold. The 8th Avenue Chevron had the biggest weekly jump of four cents to $1.72 per litre.

The least expensive fuel in the region remains at $1.59 per litre, posted at the CO-OP along 104 Avenue in Surrey.

Meanwhile, GasBuddy.com says four gas stations in B.C. are offering less than $1.40 per litre.

The lowest in the province sits at $1.38 per litre at the Super Save Gas in Quesnel.

The next three, listed for $1.39 per litre, can be found in Kamloops, Williams Lake and 150 Mile House.
