Heavy rain and wind warnings have been issued for Metro Vancouver starting this morning, Monday, Nov. 26, and continuing through the day.
Environment Canada warns that strong winds of up to 80 km/hr may cause damage throughout the day and into the evening. Specifically, high winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
Environment Canada also cautions that an intense front moving ashore from the south coast brings extremely heavy rainfall. The forecast calls for 60 to 80 mm of rainfall by Tuesday morning.
With that in mind, the strong winds are expected to ease early Tuesday morning as the front moves east. The rainfall, however, will continue throughout the week.

If visibility is reduced while driving, it is best to turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance from the vehicle ahead. In addition, localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible, so you are advised to watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
