NDP MP Peter Julian - New Westminster – Burnaby - and Gurudwara Sahib Sukh Sagar delivered 200 sports balls to the school district of New Westminster on Friday.
“This year has been difficult for everyone, especially for young students who have faced major changes. I am very thankful for Gurudwara Sahib Sukh Sagar’s generosity in donating 200 sports balls to families in need in New Westminster. We hope that these sports balls will allow students to enjoy some time outdoors,” said Julian.
“We are grateful to have this opportunity to partner with MP Peter Julian and contribute to the schools in our community, in celebration of Vaisakhi and the 9th Sikh Guru’s 400th Birthday,” commented Gurudwara Sahib Sukh Sagar president Harbhajan Singh Atwal.
“On behalf of the district, I would like to extend our sincerest thank you to MP Peter Julian and Gurudwara Sahib Sukh Sagar. This pandemic has hit many families in very challenging ways, especially for those who were already struggling with lower incomes. We know our students will be delighted to use the balls being donated, as they engage in outside play and exploration,” stated Gurveen Dhaliwal, chair of the New Westminster School Board.
