Get your mittens ready – New Westminster may see snow next week

But don't worry, it's unlikely to be a big weather event
Snow Plow New West December 2021
It's unlikely we'll see anything like this snowfall that had city trucks out in force in December – but New Westminster could see some snow next week.

Wiarton Willie's forecast to the contrary, we may yet see more winter before spring arrives for real.

New Westminster could see some snow next week, according to the Weather Network's seven-day forecast.

The forecast calls for nighttime lows as low as -4C on Monday and Tuesday, with a possibility of mixed snow and rain showers on Family Day (Monday) and again later in the week on Thursday and Friday.

But don't start planning for your next sledding adventure at Queen's Park quite just yet: it's unlikely to be a big weather event.

Environment Canada meteorologist Doug Lundquist told Vancouver Is Awesome in an interview this week that there's a "low likelihood" of snowfall.

"It would just be rain mixed with snow or snow on higher terrain," he said.
