Is it really? Could it be? Dare we even whisper the word "spring" in New Westminster?
It looks like we're gearing up for just that as we head into the weekend (but shhh, let's not talk about it too loudly lest we jinx ourselves).
Though temperatures may yet dip below freezing again tonight — the Weather Network is forecasting an overnight low of –1 C — we're taking a turn for the warmer after that. Thursday's high is forecast at 10 C, while Friday could see the mercury climb to 13 C.
The weekend is also poised for warm weather, with a high of 13 C on Saturday and 11 C on Sunday. Plus, there's a good bit of sun in the forecast, with a mix of sun and clouds expected tomorrow (Thursday, March 16), sunny skies on Friday and a mix of sun and clouds on Saturday.
To be sure, some real rain could arrive by Sunday, when we could see anywhere from five to 10 mm fall on New West, and another 10 to 15 mm on Monday.
But the crocuses are well and truly blooming. Can daffodils and cherry blossoms be far behind?
