Fraser River Discovery Centre is closed this week in response to the rapidly changing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The centre, located at 788 Quayside Dr., provides a variety of exhibits and programs related to the Fraser River.

“The health and safety of our visitors, staff and general public remain our number one priority,” said Stephen Bruyneel, the centre’s director of external relations and development, in an email to the Record. “We will monitor things and make decisions later in the week regarding next week/longer term.”

Fraser River Discovery Centre has also postponed its 2020 Fraser River Hall of Fame dinner and gala, which was scheduled for May 12. Former New Westminster MP Fin Donnelly will be inducted into the Fraser River Hall of Fame at the event, which will now be held in the fall.
