1Share your thoughts on the Pattullo Bridge replacement project at an open house being held at the Inn at the Quay on Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. TransLink, the City of New Westminster and the City of Surrey have been working together to consider alternatives to rehabilitate or replace the Pattullo Bridge and find a solution.

2 Find some new-to-you treasures at the Glenbrooke North Residents Association's 14th annual garage sale. The event takes place on Saturday, June 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the neighbourhood that runs from 10th Avenue to the north side of Sixth Avenue, and from McBride Boulevard to the east side of Sixth Street.

3 Check out the last weekend of the Vagabond Players final show of the season, Wait Until Dark. All the action in this exciting thriller is taking place at the Bernie Legge Theatre in Queen's Park on Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 or $13 for students and seniors.

4Take dad on a riverboat cruise for Father's Day, when the Paddlewheeler Riverboat Tours offers a special brunch or dinner sailing. The brunch cruise on the Fraser River runs from 11: 30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

($54.95 for adults, $49.95 for seniors and $29.95 for children aged six to 12), while the dinner cruise - featuring a performance by local band RazzMaJazz - is from 5 to 8 p.m.

5Learn about local ecology, help manage invasive plants, plant native plants and monitor water quality in the Brunette River is Uncover your Creeks: Citizen Science. A partnership between New Westminster Parks, Culture and Recreation and Evergreen, the program gets underway at Hume Park on Sunday, June 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The all-ages event is free. 6Wander through the gardens and enjoy the serenity of your surroundings while experiencing the joy of living with art at the Van Dop Gallery and Garden. The New Westminster gallery, located at 421 Richmond St., is launching its latest exhibit, The Art of the Garden, on Saturday, June 15.

The exhibit runs until Aug. 31 and features handcrafted birdbaths, unique garden sculpture by featured artist Keith Rice-Jones and whimsical garden treasures. For more information, contact the gallery at 604-521-7887 or gallery@vandopgallery. com.

7Get a jump on summer and head to Moody Park outdoor pool, which recently opened for the season. The pool is open (weather permitting) Monday to Friday, from 3: 15 to 7: 15 p.m., and weekends, from 1 to 4: 55 p.m. until June 27. The pool also has free admission on weekends.
