The Canada-born actor was filming in Fort Langley earlier this week, and a couple of people have mentioned on social media that they spotted him. 

The funnyman stars as Robotnik in the film franchise's second instalment. The first film, Sonic the Hedgehog (2020), was about a "small-town police officer" who teams up with a blue, lightning-fast, extraterrestrial hedgehog to "defeat an evil genius who wants to do experiments" on the space critter, according to IMDb.

Fans shared several photos from the set over the past week. Katia Stano told Vancouver Is Awesome that the film set has taken over Fort Langley's Glover Road. She added that it "looks like a military invasion with helicopter and tanks included!" 

Now, several other people have shared recent images and videos of the completely transformed village community.

UBC ranked #3 most filmed location in Canada

A recent study finds that the University of British Columbia is the third most-filmed location in Canada. 

NetCredit, a licensed online financial services provider for mid-size personal loans, dug through 120 years of film history to uncover the most popular filming locations in every country around the world.

The company found that the most-filmed location in the world is Central Park in New York City, with 532 movie credits. Popular films such as John WickGhostbustersHome Alone 2, and Enchanted were filmed there.
