No driver really wants to drive along 10th Avenue, right?
This is especially true during rush-hour times. Most drivers, however, stay on this road despite heavy traffic and long lineups at lights.
Others, however, become ratrunners by turning off onto quiet side streets and racing well above the residential speed limit as they try and beat the rush.
One of these notorious ratrunner routes is Second Street in New Westminster. On Monday morning, a driver racing down this street crashed full speed into a parked truck in the 900 block. One driver was sent to hospital with undetermined injuries.
Now Second Street is blocked as New West police investigate.
