Remember that new year's resolution you had to try something new in 2013?
It's not too late, even if you're still spending your nights passively watching cable TV. A local art group is welcoming new members to try their hand at the never-out-of-style skill of drawing, and who knows? You could be the next Van Gogh.
The Heritage Life Drawing Society is a group of artists that meets once a week to practise life drawing skills using professional models.
The group welcomes new members as well as drop-in participants on Thursday evenings from 5: 45 to 8: 45 p.m. at the CG Masters Animation School, 320-800 Carnarvon St. to practise sketching live professional models.
No experience necessary, and all levels are welcome. There is no instruction. Just bring a pad of paper and a pencil and have fun meeting other local artists and drawing hobbyists and learn by looking over the shoulder of others at the session.
The cost is $15 for non-members, $12 for members. For more information, visit www.heritage lifedrawing.com.
