Douglas College is once again looking for volunteer tutors for its I-CARE literacy program.

I-CARE offers weekly English language tutoring for people struggling with basic reading and writing. The program is completely free and provides people with access to a trained volunteer and Douglas College resources.

Volunteers must be Grade 12 graduates and should be patient and reliable. You’d take part in Douglas College’s tutor training program, which includes about 20 hours of workshops and a minimum of four practicum experiences. Volunteers are expected to be available a minimum of two hours per week plus some preparation time and should be able to commit to a full year.
