As part of its This is My City promotion, Tourism New Westminster is seeking residents' thoughts about why they love New Westminster.
Participants will be entered to win a prize package valued at $750.
"This is our second year doing it," said Tej Kainth, marketing coordinator at Tourism New Westminster. "The prize is a Best of New West package."
The winner will get a chance to be a tourist in their own city by enjoying experiences such as a night at the Inn at the Quay and a paddleboat riverboat cruise.
Kainth encourages residents to share their stories about what they love about New Westminster.
"Tourists want to be locals when they come here," she said. "We are looking for those stories."
As a lifelong Royal City resident, Kainth knows about the city's charm and character and the pride that residents have in their community.
The winning entry will be published in Tourism New Westminster's new visitors' guide and on its new website.
In addition to written stories, people can also submit video entries to the contest.
Kainth said there are hundreds of reasons why she loves New Westminster. From a tourist perspective, she said there are festivals and activities offered in all corners of the city.
