Salmonbellies' lacrosse fans will have a cultural treat at Thursday's Western Lacrosse Association matchup with the Nanaimo Timbermen on Thursday.

The Tri-City Dance Centre, under the direction of owner/director Shannon Stewardson, will perform three numbers between periods of this week's scheduled senior A lacrosse game.

The dance centre's Intermediate A group will be performing its hugely successful and award-winning jazz routine Blow, which earned the second-highest group number at a recent Dance Power competition.

The nine-member group has performed at numerous galas and benefit concerts, and placed first at both the Chilliwack and Surrey dance festivals this season.

While the name Stewardson is well known in lacrosse circles in the Royal City and beyond, one of the dancers is also making a name in Canada's national summer sport.

Breanne Lowka, 13, plays girls' lacrosse in the New Westminster minor system.

The centre's intermediate B and C group will per-form two numbers - a jazz and hip-hop routine.

"We're going with what's best for the lacrosse community - upbeat," said Stewardson.
