Art exhibitions on display at the New West library

A diverse range of artwork is on display at the New Westminster Library until May 31.

In the second floor gallery, the outdoors is the inspiration for the Plein Air Painters. Christine Moore, Joann Heringer, Dale Costanzo, Gillian Wright and Sim Lee explore the colour and textures of the outdoors in their painting.

Their sketches and quick paintings form the basis for their creative finished pieces in this exhibition.

On the Ramp Gallery, the Diaconu family presents an exhibition called Expressive Quartet, with artwork by Gabriela, Dan, George and Adina Diaconu.

The family members work in various media, although each has also chosen a specific medium to bring individual creativity to their art.

The current show includes acrylic on canvas, photography, mixed media and digital painting.

Both exhibitions can be viewed at the library during open hours at 716 6th Ave. The library is wheelchair accessible.
