New West police are hoping for the public’s help in identifying a suspect they allege stole several items from a locker room at Moody Park Arena last month.
On Aug. 15, a man broke into a secured locker room at Moody Park Arena while the players were on the ice. Once inside the room, police allege the suspect stole some wallets and cellphones before leaving the arena unnoticed.
The suspect used some of the stolen credit cards at various businesses around New Westminster and Burnaby, according to a media release.
Investigators have obtained surveillance footage of the suspect inside the arena and are now asking for the public’s help identifying him.
Police describe the suspect as a man between 30 and 40 years old with a dark complexion and thin build. He was wearing a blue baseball hat, a heavy gold necklace or chain, a dark-coloured T-shirt featuring a gold religious figure, and a dark athletic-style coat with white sleeves.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Const. David De Guzman at 604-525-5411.
