Royal Columbian Hospital and the City of New West will consider transportation around the Sapperton site as part of the hospital's development and ongoing city planning.

New Westminster police took a page out of Santa’s book and spread some Christmas cheer to the pediatrics ward at Royal Columbian Hospital.

Chief Const. Dave Jones and members of the community services section presented the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation with $1,700 and a laptop computer on Dec. 22, according to a media release from New Westminster police.

The foundation will use the money to buy a second laptop and workstation for Royal Columbian’s pediatrics ward, according to the release.

“When children and youth are in the hospital, many times they are isolated in their rooms. These laptops will help provide the children with more entertainment and access to the Internet while facing this isolation.  A new workstation will provide a comfortable area for the kids to complete homework or other projects during their stay at (Royal Columbian Hospital),” stated the release.
