Cops for Cancer, the annual Canadian Cancer Society fundraiser that sees local forces' finest jump on bikes and ride hundreds of kilometres for cancer research, rolled into the Royal City Wednesday.

From Wednesday, Sept. 21 to Thursday, Sept. 29, the team rode to the Sunshine Coast, Powell River, Whistler and Pemberton, the North Shore and all over the Lower Mainland from Maple Ridge to Vancouver.

As of presstime Thursday, total donations for the Tour de Coast/ Greater Vancouver region were at $246,607.

Last year, Cops for Cancer brought in $2.4 million across Canada. The money raised is targeted towards research, especially for childhood cancers, and Camp Goodtimes, a summer camp for kids in treatment.
