The Glenbrooke North Residents' Association was started as a way for concerned locals to meet and discuss important neighbourhood issues.

Tony Glavin, Paul Fuoco, Doug Bjornson and Jim Goring formed the organization in 2000. Since then, a number of residents has been involved in the group, which tackles concerns such as traffic and neighbourhood construction.

Glenbrooke residents who want to get involved can attend the association's upcoming meeting on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Plaskett Room, upstairs in the New Westminster Library, at 716 Sixth Ave.

Marya McLellan, Goring's wife, recently launched a Facebook page for the group - as a place where locals can share Glenbrookespecific announcements and information.

McLellan and Goring - a former school trustee - have lived in Glenbrooke for 24 years and raised two children in their Durham Street home.
