Wesgroup Properties is ready to embark on some residential construction at the Brewery District.

With commercial and office space already under construction at the Brewery District, Wesgroup Properties will begin building residential units at the Sapperton development in the fall.

Wesgroup will continue to develop the commercial mixed-use component of the Brewery District through to its completion and will retain long-term ownership of the commercial mixed-use development.

Wesgroup Properties and Bluetree Homes are sponsors of the Sapperton Days Street Festival, which takes place on Sunday, June 10 on East Columbia Street.

The first residential highrise tower at the Brewery District will consist of about 130 units.

The first phase of the nine-acre development, which opened in the fall of 2011, includes a number of other retail services and health amenities.

Construction is also well underway for the new TransLink and Transit Police corporate headquarters at the Brewery District, which is scheduled for completion in early 2013.

When complete, the Brewery District will provide approximately 750 new homes for up to 1,500 new residents. It will also provide retail/ commercial space for almost 100 new businesses and have more than 2,300 onsite daily employees.
