The City of New Westminster is preparing to make the return to the provincial sales tax.
Beginning April 1, British Columbia will return to the federal goods and services tax and the PST, ditching the 12 per cent harmonized sales tax that was introduced in 2010.
"I suspect there will be a little bit of a hit, just like everybody," Gary Holowatiuk, the city's director of finance and information technology, recently told city council.
