New Westminster poet laureate Candice James has some explaining to do.
Coun. Bill Harper said the city's arts commission suggested that James make a presentation to city council about the type of work she's doing in her role as poet laureate.
He said the arts commission thought it would be a "nice thing to do" to have James make a presentation to council so community members are aware of her many endeavours.
Perimeter path for school
A city committee wants to ensure that cyclists have a connection to the future Ãcole Qayqayt Elementary school site.
The city's advisory committee for transit, bicycles and pedestrians has recommended that the city explore the inclusion of a perimeter path.
The path could either be on or off the site, and the committee asked that the central pathway through the site remain in the design and be built when funding becomes available.
Council supported the recommend tion.
