For the second year in a row, the New Westminster Salmonbellies will take on members from the New Westminster Police Department in a charity hockey game, March 20 (tonight), at Queen's Park Arena.

After last year's 8-7 loss in a shoot out, the police department is keen for a rematch, said Staff Sgt. Paul Hyland.

"We're looking for a fun game, looking for a good turnout and hoping to raise some money," he said.

Last year's Cops for Cancer cup raised about $1,500 for the Canada-wide cancer fundraiser.

"We really only had about two weeks notice to get the word out, so this year, we've kind of put a little more into it," he said.

The game starts at 7 p.m. at Queen's Park Arena. Admission is by donation and while organizers are recommending a $5 minimum donation, anything will be accepted.

"At the end of the day we're just looking for a donation," Hyland said.

All proceeds go to Cops for Cancer.
