Impersonator Johnny Vallis will also perform at the event being held at the Inn at Quay, starting at 6 p.m.

"We are that old," executive director Cori Lynn Germiquet laughed as she marvelled at the organization's lengthy years of service.

Along with celebrating its 130th birthday, the chamber is using the anniversary year to showcase business in New Westminster.

"So every week, we have something going out into the business community and the community at-large talking about why New West is such a great place to do business," Germiquet said.

The chamber was founded in 1883, Germiquet explained. It operated as a board of trade until 1961, when it became the New Westminster Chamber of Commerce.
