ESL Conversation Circles at the library, drop-ins for adults who want to meet people and practise speaking English. Sessions for all adults take place every Saturday from 10: 30 to 11: 30 a.m.; sessions for women only take place every Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. (children are welcome). The programs are cosponsored by Family Services of Greater Vancouver and held in the library's auditorium at 716 Sixth Ave. Info: 604-5274660.

New Westminster Public Library, ongoing sale of gently used books that aren't needed in the library are sold for 25 cents to $2. Special books have special prices. Books about animals are highlighted from Dec. 14 to 24. All proceeds go to special projects for the benefits of library users. The library is located at 716 Sixth Ave.
