Get animated in the New Westminster Public Library, celebration in honour of International Animation Day. New release of animated shorts will be show at the Animation Celebration, 7 p.m. The films have been co-produced with the National Film Board's international partners and made by some of the world's top animation directors. Two hands-on animation workshop, being held at New Westminster Public Library as part of Get Animated celebration in honour of International Animation Day. The workshop partner, Reel2Real, will teach how to animate using different techniques including pixilation. Participants can bring costumes, story ideas and flash drive to save their work. Workshop at 3:30 p.m. is for tweens aged nine to 12 and includes the film, Bonifacio in Summertime. Workshop at 6:30 p.m. is for teens and adults and includes the film Rose and Violet. Space is limited so registration is required for the workshops. Rose and Violet starts at 8 p.m. and is open to everyone over 12. To register, call 604-527-4667.
