Wanted: Police issued a warrant for Howard Solomon O’Soup for allegedly breaking and entering.

A suspect wanted for several alleged break-ins is in custody after weeks on the lam.

New Westminster’s street crime unit arrested Howard Solomon O’Soup on Thursday, Nov. 19, at a location in Surrey. The 38-year-old was taken into custody, and on Friday, Nov. 20, he was officially charged with five counts of break-and-enter, according to Acting Sgt. Jeff Scott, from the New Westminster Police Department.

Three of the five counts of break-and-enter stem from incidents in New Westminster, including one alleged offence from 2013 and two recent incidents on Nov. 3, according to online court documents.

The other charges are from incidents in Langley and North Vancouver.

“A break-and-enter is a very invasive type of offence that affects the entire community,” Scott said in a media release. “The excellent work by our street crime unit lead to the successful arrest of O’Soup, who will be appearing before the courts for these offences.”

O’Soup remains in custody at this time. No court appearances have been scheduled yet.
