Shiloh Sixth Avenue United Church is once again offering a church service for folks who may be struggling with Christmas.

The church is inviting people to attend its Blue Christmas service on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 7: 30 p.m.

"People find the holiday season stressful for many reasons. They always have," said a press release from the church. "The purpose of a Blue Christmas service is to acknowledge the struggles that many people have when they face a season that seems to be all about joy with heavy hearts or anxious minds."

Whether your partner has left you, you've lost your job, you're spending Christmas without a parent, sibling or child, or some other stressful situation, you're welcome to attend the Blue Christmas service.

Shiloh Sixth Avenue United Church has been offering the Blue Christmas service for several years.

"It is for anyone who needs some space for their struggles to be recognized and for hope to be rekindled," said a press release from the church. "During the service, prayers will be shared, scriptures read and songs sung. There will be candles lit and symbols of hope for people to take with them."

A time for refreshments and conversation will be provided following the services. Shiloh Sixth Avenue United Church is located at 1111 Sixth Ave.
